Christmas in July — Jeanie Smith Cash

Today I’m thrilled to welcome author Jeanie Smith Cash as she talks about the Smoky Mountain Christmas collection.

July seems to be a good month to start thinking about Christmas. I love reading Christmas stories, they help to put me in the mood for the holiday season. I also love to write Christmas books, so with the Lord’s inspiration I came up with an idea awhile back of setting four stories together in the small town of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It’s a quaint little town that goes all out decorating for all of the holidays throughout the year, especially for Christmas. Once I had the idea, I decided to write one of the stories and I asked three of my co-authors Delia Latham, Rose Allen McCauley and Tiffany Amber Stockton, to write the other three with me. We each took one of the young ladies and wrote her story, we then put the four books together and I wrote the epilogue at the end of my book, Sleigh belles In The Snow, to complete the story. Below is the blurb from our stories, Smoky Mountain Christmas Set.

Claude Buchanan is turning 80. Ida Buchanan wants her husband to have an 80th birthday he’ll never forget. His one request is for all of their children and grandchildren to be there for the party. They have four sons, and each one has a daughter—the heroines in each of the novellas. The cousins all share the last name of Buchanan. All four young women left Gatlinburg, Tennessee in the last few years—for reasons specific to each—and moved to another area or state. For that reason, they don’t want to return for the party. But because they love their grandparents, they do. Returning home forces each young woman to deal with what caused her to leave in the first place, and in each case, opens the door to true love. The birthday party takes place in Granddaddy and Granny Buchanan’s barn on Christmas Eve and each of the four stories end that same day, just prior to the party, which is featured in the epilogue accompanying the last book in the series. The epilogue ties all the stories together with a bow as a wonderful Christmas present! If you like happily ever after Christmas stories, you will LOVE these!
