The Heart to Dance — Inspirational fiction for eight to twelve-year-old girls — Joanne Currence (+ Giveaway )

Today I’m happy to introduce author Joanne Currence as she talks about her new book and joins us for an author spotlight and giveaway. Read through to the end to find out how you can enter.

I loved writing this book! I first got the idea in my 20’s at the start of my teaching career. I’d taken courses through The Institute of Children’s Literature after discovering that writing was my dream. It started out as a short story, when years later, an author who critiqued it said, “You need to make this into a book!” After learning how to do that, I delved right in.

What was fun about writing it was coming up with fun characters with names that I love along with creating scenes with tension and conflict to keep the reader turning the page. It was also enjoyable doing research on places the girls traveled to when they all ventured off. But what was most fun was when a friend of mine read it, saying she saw so much of me in it, like when Alexis, the main character, loves the foods l love, too! One thing I learned about writing and when I’d get stuck, I’d go off and do something, like work in the garden or hop in the shower, and the idea would come!

The Heart to Dance is about young Alexis pursuing her dreams to dance, and when trouble and trials come her way, she turns to her faith knowing she needs to trust God. It’s a book I hope encourages all of us with those dreams in our hearts.

I so much enjoyed writing it. I hope you enjoy it, too!

Where is your favorite vacation spot? Anywhere with palm trees and white sandy beaches!

What do you enjoy most about writing? Creating fun adventures I’d love doing, myself.

What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful? To share it with others and invite them to pick up a copy 🙂

READERS, Joanne asks…. What part of the book was your favorite and why?
