Today is the third in a series of posts with Author Margaret Mizushima and Agent Terrie Wolf.

Author Margaret Mizushima and agent Terrie Wolf of AKA Literary Management answer questions about their affiliation and the book KILLING TRAIL: A TIMBER CREEK K-9 MYSTERY to be released on December 8, 2015 by Crooked Lane Books.

How did you come up with the title?

Margaret: Titles are not my strong point. I used the working title Timber Creek K-9 while writing the book, and I knew I wanted something better. Terrie assured me not to worry about a title too much, because it’s often changed during the publication process. After the book sold to Crooked Lane Books, editor Nike Power and her staff, Terrie and her staff, and my family and I began an email brainstorming session to come up with a title. After several rounds of emails, we settled on Killing Trail: A Timber Creek K-9 Mystery.

Terrie: The title process was such fun! Every author should hope for such a brainstorming session. We found ourselves sending email out to one another at all hours with, “How about…” or “I think this could work!” Finally, I think Nike was the one who discovered the golden ticket and it seemed we gave a collective cheer – and a huge sigh of relief – within seconds of one another.
