Why did you write this book?

Margaret: I wanted to write a mystery. I’d tried my hand at mainstream fiction and romance, but my reading interest had shifted to suspense, thrillers, and mystery. My husband is a veterinarian, and one of his clients was a police officer who trained police service and protection dogs. This dog trainer let me observe him while he worked with several officers and their dogs. I decided that I wanted one of my characters to be a vet and one to be a K-9 handler. Thus, Deputy Mattie Cobb, her patrol dog Robo, and Cole Walker, DVM, were conceived. Together they solve crimes that involve animals and their humans.
